In case you want to inspect any of your aliases.db files, use praliases: the reverse of makemap to get an aliases text file.
Plus you don’t have to remember the makemap options.
Use the -f option to dump a specific db file:
snap:/etc/mail # praliases -f /etc/aliases.db
